The jazz guitarist Pavle Miljenović has two studio albums behind him, followed by excellent reviews and acceptance by an audience that is not only limited exclusively to jazz music lovers. After the debut “Begin.” with the quintet, he released the acclaimed album with the quartet, “Upper Structures”.Now he presents his third author’s album, “Arrival”.

“I guess the inspiration for the album “Arrival” has always been in me. I just needed to mature artistically, professionally and as a person to realize it. The idea was to express myself in an honest and unpretentious way and stylistically and compositionally consistent with my first Quintet album “Begin.”. In this composition, the emphasis is always on the melody and mental images / filmic nature of the music itself. It is as if they are following a scene from life”, Pavle states his idea behind the new edition.

In addition to being an excellent guitarist, Pavle also has written all the compositions on the album, and in his arrangements contemporary jazz sounds interesting and compact. On “Arrival” he was joined again by his longtime colleagues and excellent jazz musicians Saša Nestorović on saxophone, Hrvoje Geller on piano, Zvonimir Šestak on double bass and Borko Rupena on drums.

“We recorded in the wonderful studio “Artesuono” in Udine (Italy), and the recording artist Stefano Amerio himself is one of the best in the world for acoustic music. He has been collaborating and recording for Manfred Eicher from ECM for 30 years, which is a reference that only a few have people in the world! The material was composed a couple of years ago, but for obvious reasons we could not record it then. I must also emphasize the help of the Ministry of Culture and Media regarding the project itself and Croatia Records, without whom it would have been very difficult to realize this album in the quality it deserves. I hope that it will reach the audience inside and outside the jazz idiom, because it is harmonious and played completely sincerely and without artistic compromises”, emphasizes Pavle.
