The great blues-rock-jazz guitarist Luboš Andršt would have celebrated 75 this year

This compilation is a reminder of his outstanding music, recorded over more than fifty years. Luboš Andršt has contributed to nearly seventy albums in varying degrees during that time, so it was quite difficult to choose a representative sample. Preference was given to the more blues-rock and electric part of his legacy, with a balanced proportion of instrumentals and collaborations with excellent singers. In the chronology of wordless music, Luboš’s contribution to the resonance of Martin Kratochvíl’s then still quite rocking Jazz Q, but above all to Andršt’s fusion Energit in several stages of development, cannot be missed. You will also find other guitar parades by Andršt, including samples from his magnificent solo album “Capricornus”.

Among his singing partners is the unmissable Michal Prokop, with whom Andršt made his first Framus Five recordings and with whom he regularly met until his sadly premature death in 2021. A great deal of music was played under the banner of the Blues Band with Peter Lipa, a rare opportunity was the help with the return of Marta Kubišová, inspiration was provided by the American vocalists temporarily settled in our country, and the joy was the return to the “Energit” roots with Honza Holeček. A total of 26 tracks, perhaps not enough for a complete profile, but certainly enough to realize the quality and breadth of Andršt’s guitar, compositional, arranging and bandleading talents.
