Croatia Records Release Information

Brano Likic has been a pioneer of Sarajevo’s pop rock school, producer, and one of the most prolific composers from Bosnia and Hercegovina. During the 70s and 80s he was singing and playing in the group Rezonansa. The album “Jazz Postcard” was recorded in 2009 in Prague and Grünwald and released under his Blap Studio label, in 2023 it was rereleased by Croatia Records on CD, and at the beginning of 2024 on vinyl. The album was recorded with the top jazz musicians Martin Ðakonovski on bass, Dejan Terzic on drums, Walter Lang on piano and the legendary jazz trumpeter Duško Gojkovic on whose persuasion this album was created.

“Duško Gojkovic is most responsible for the creation of this album. He heard me sing and said I had to record a jazz album. We have chosen several jazz standards, so this jazz postcard is actually a real “American songbook”. Duško always said that you should work with the best, because then you also give your best. I got a lot of good reviews for this album, and better than that was the wonderful friendship with Duško Gojkovic. We had more plans, but the so-called covid pandemic stopped us. Unfortunately, Gojkovic left us last year, so this album has even greater significance for me, and I believe for all those who love jazz music,” explained Likic.

As a producer, he worked out the first albums of Dino Merlin, Plavi Orkestar (The Blue Orchestra), and some of the most famous names in folk music such as Toma Zdravkovic. How tireless and productive he is, is also shown by the fact that in the last few years, Croatia Records has published “Gold Collection”, a double compilation of songs he sang or wrote for others, the album “Football”, and as a producer he signed the albums “Tribute to Ivo Robic” and “Tempi passati” by Srdan Gjivoj. New albums are being prepared, and one of them is the album “King is back”, by the once very popular group Mirzino Jato.

“We have known each other for many years and it is a quality friendship. Brano is a man who dedicated his whole life to music, friends, and production. All his works that come in large quantities today are a tribute to his quality work and thank God that we have him. Brano Likic is a man who does not stand still, who produces, composes, and records on a daily basis, and it is a great honor for me to be able to enable him to show himself again”, concluded Želimir Babogredac, the director of Croatia Records.
