When the young Petr Hošek, as a boxer for Abraxas, was composing letters from the names of his favourite bands on paper to finally form the word Plexis, nobody had any idea what a phenomenon it would later become.

The band that was subsequently formed added the suffix P.M. to its name, which meant nothing else than Punk Music. This was so that no one would be left in doubt what this new Prague band actually played. And it wasn’t just about music, the band members were really living their punk life, including sleeping in the sewers and raiding all the Prague pubs.

In 1985, when Plexis were young and full of vigour, the tireless Petr Růžička organised a legendary event on the “Vltava” steamboat. Along with Už Jsme Doma and F.P.B., Plexis could not be absent. The band poured out one fast punk rhythm after another, their own compositions were sometimes supplemented with covers, often with Czech lyrics, and the pogo was really wild, according to the memories. The actress Jitka Asterová even appeared as a guest on several tracks.

Just a few months later, Plexis appeared at another punk show, this time in the village of Stará Lysá. Plexis performed a renewed repertoire. The even more cohesive band has clearly moved on and some of the songs here have an almost horror punk touch.

In the following period, there were several personnel changes for Plexis, a break-up and a revival of the band shortly before the revolution. But this time of midnight rebellion, records on the Monitor label or opening for the Ramones is another chapter.

For the first time ever, recordings from Plexis’ earliest period are officially released. The album “Live 1985” contains recordings from both of the aforementioned concerts, supplemented by memories of the witnesses (shared by Alex Švamberk and Milan Jonšta) and many period photographs.

The album is released only on vinyl by PHR Records.
