Omega’s eleventh Hungarian studio album “XI” was released in 1982.

Musically, the album marked a significant departure from the sound of their previous record, as it gave greater prominence to a sound based primarily on synthesizers, at times bordering on minimalism. Once again, the value of this unique music has been enhanced by Péter Sülyi’s lyrically beautiful lyrics.

Despite this, the audience did not receive this excellent album with great enthusiasm, even though Omega had innovated so radically while remaining true to themselves: only their tools had changed, not their fundamental approach to music.

The bonus tracks include three live recordings made during Omega’s 1980 national tour. What makes these interesting is that three songs from “Az arc” (The Face) were not yet in their final form when they were preserved for posterity. The final bonus track is “Hajrá” (Go for It), written for the 1982 soccer World Cup, which Omega produced with the collaboration of Tibor Nyilasi and András Törőcsik.

This rerelease has been complemented by a 24-page booklet containing liner notes, photos, and lyrics.
