Kalemegdan Disk Release Information

The sixth Hungarian recording was titled “Nem tudom a neved – Omega 6” (I Don’t Know Your Name – Omega 6). The recording leans more heavily on keyboards and pursues further the route set out by “Búcsúztató” (Farewell) from Omega 5. The 1998 digitally remastered version was released under the title “Tűzvihar” (Fire Storm). An earlier version of the eponymous track “Tűzvihar” was featured on “10000 lépés” (10000 Paces) with trumpets instead of a synthesizer.

GrundRecords Release Information

In the autumn of 1974, Omega went into the studio to record their next, sixth Hungarian-language album, “Nem tudom a neved” (I Don’t Know Your Name).

For this project, they brought back the musical foundations of four songs from Germany, while four new songs were recorded in Hungary. The album was released in 1975; while the synthesizer played a more prominent role in the sound compared to previous albums, the music retained its authentic hard rock sound. For the first time in Omega’s history, all the songs on the album were sung by János Kóbor.

The album was originally released on vinyl with two different cover designs. Initially, the records were packaged in light brown sleeves, but later in pink ones. Now, for the first time, it has been released on CD with a brown cover.

This rerelease has been complemented by bonus material. The new version of “Tűzvihar” (Fire Storm) was recorded at the same time as the album’s songs, but was left off the original LP. The 1974 Hungarian Radio recording of “Nem tudom a neved” (I Don’t Know Your Name) differs significantly from the version heard on the album. And “Never Feel Shame” was part of the soundtrack album “A kenguru” (The Kangaroo) by Various Artists in 1976.
