Empik Release Information
The LP “Niemen Enigmatic”, Czesław Niemen’s fourth album, was considered a breakthrough in his career almost from the beginning. The album attracted attention already with its gatefold cover with a photograph of the artist looking towards the viewer. The title of the album was also meant to suggest that there was something unusual, something mysterious hidden in the recordings.
The album included four excellent progressive organ-based rock songs composed by Niemen to poetic texts. The first of them, the monumental “Bem pamięci żałobny – Rapsod ” (Threnody in the Memory of Bem) by Cyprian Kamil Norwid, is the most important composition of the album. After its premiere, heated discussions took place around it. The second side of the longplay consisted of three other songs: “Jednego serca” (One Heart) to a text by Adam Asnyk, “Kwiaty ojczyste” (Flowers of My Country) by Tadeusz Kubiak and “Mów do mnie jeszcze” (Keep Speaking to Me) by Kazimierz Przerwy-Tetmajer.
This reissue has been released on 200 gram vinyl and comes with an insert containing a longer text about the record both on Polish and on English.
