Reissue of the untitled album which started Schelinger’s golden era

Actually it is a compilation of recordings from 1974 to 1976. One part presents the pop face of the unconventionally rough-voiced singer, here accompanied by big dance orchestras. The second part is directed towards the rock, even hard rock album “Hrr na ne” (Hrr to them), considered as a genre classic.

And all this under a curious trade name, consisting only of the names of Schelinger and his bandleader František Ringo Cech. Fans of both singers found their own thing there, plus they came up with the unofficial title of the album, based on the title photo of Otto Dlabola. For many, then, it’s “Ovoce z naší zahrádky” (Fruit from our garden), an interesting mix of songs with a set of Cech’s lyrics and an increasing proportion of Schelinger’s original compositions performed by a great band.

Many details are contained in the insightful text by Miloš Latislav, accompanied by period photographs. The cover art has been reconstructed from surviving slides and the vinyl sound refreshed by this year’s mastering from the tapes. The “trademark” layout of the title is already intertwined with the following two albums, and also some of the songs have definitely stepped away from the funny bubble-gum to more serious themes. This is also why this vinyl rightfully belongs to the series of albums now reissued for the first time since the original release.
