“Sliby a lži” (Promises & Lies) is the tenth release in the complete discography of the rock band Škwor. It was released in the year when the band celebrated fifteen years of existence. Rather than commemorate it with a greatest hits collection, as they do, which they would have quietly put together from their older tracks, they prefer to come up with a new one.

Over the course of their existence, this Prague foursome has found a sound that even a less trained ear will recognize them by. With the album “Sliby a lži” (Promises & Lies) they have confirmed it. The haunting choruses are preceded by a mood-forming and melodically appealing verse, all connected by Petr Hrdlička’s urgent vocals and a massive sound that has long exceeded the parameters of the domestic average.

Acoustic guitars, piano or accordion are the instruments that have enriched some of the songs. And they often sound right at the beginning, as the creators of the atmosphere that in the first moments hints at what the song will bring. The first single from the album, for which a music video is currently being made, is the driving track “Poslouchej” (Listen).
